Greenhouses can be magical as a wedding venue. Cassie & Ari married in Washington D.C in the spring, but were born and raised in Michigan… sooo they also planned for a wedding celebration here at home. We did a Skype/facetime chat months before the wedding, and a pre celebration meet up a day before the celebration to walk through the venue and make our plans for how the night would flow. Typically I meet and work with couples before the big day with an engagement shoot, but since they were already married and lived a plane ride away, I was eager to meet them and take a few images that day before. It was such a lovely meeting, and my creative brain was so looking forward to their celebration! Cassie is an amazing writer, and Ari is a famous guy in Magic… the gathering. Yes, that is right. I rubbed elbows with some pretty cool people and those that love them.

The day of we had set aside the first hour to photograph them and then family and then the big party. Goldner Walsh is such a fun location with rich textures. We wandered in and out of rooms that were covered in fall tones and aging iron supports. It was fabulous. Their lovely family gushed over them and had so much love. It was indeed a lovely night. A night I am glad to have played a part.
