On our last night of vacation, while enjoying a wonderful dinner filled with smiles, my husband asked me what part of our trip was my favorite. I paused for only a moment and then answered quickly. The vibrant memories of long hikes up mountain sides, trudging up stream in 42 degree water, and long drives through the Southwest to many of our National Parks still swirling in my mind. At the time I told him the part that made me happiest of all the things we did together, Rattlesnake Canyon.
The truth. I loved it all.
Back in Michigan, looking through the hundreds of photos I took in hopes to capture the beauty of what we saw together, my favorite part shines through it all. I know that the best part – in all honesty was being with my best friend : ) Time flies by so quickly. I know God has helped us grow together in the best ways. This vacation helped me see this – and what a blessing it was!
Mike was so patient as I took a few photographs during our 3 hour visit to the canyons. Often sand was blowing from the canyon top and walls onto our hat covered heads as we squeezed through the twists and turns. These Canyons are sacred grounds to the Navajo American Indians but they are kind enough to show visitors this gorgeous area. Vernon, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and taught me a thing or two about low light photography. He was awesome!!
