Our weekly “Hike” or nature walk with my littles has been going on for almost two years. We meet up every Monday and walk with other families through Hike it Baby. Not every week goes smoothly. Sometimes we get off to a rocky start. This April 17th walk isn’t my favorite as far as killer images, but it is very truthful. Life is messy. Kids aren’t always happy. My little Finley is pleased as punch to be out and exploring nature. We talk about all things along the way. We are big on organic learning. We try to keep the walk pretty educational, unless a mommy wants to talk to another mommy – lol. Anyhow – here we see Finley loving the walk. Then we see Leighton sitting in the middle of the trail refusing to go on… right at the start of the walk too. So mom had to carry all 38 pounds of Leighton. It didn’t last long. We found the FIRST FLOWERS of spring, the Marsh Marigold, and that made the whole walk more de-LIGHT-ful. Leighton walked with Finley. We explored and suddenly had so much to talk about along the way. Thank goodness! I had him in my Onya carrier… but still. He is heavy! The rest of the walk was all about the dock for the kids, and after playing on the dock for twenty minutes we took the shortcut and did a nursing break before heading to the cars. It was so good to get out. I didn’t shower, and had a toddler meltdown on the trail… but so worth it.
Please feel free to join us 🙂 We usually have three or more families depending on the weather. 🙂
